The Spins Entertainment LLC is rooted in a love for all music, a lifetime of experience and education in live performance, as well as, experience with event preparation and management in New York City.

When booking The Spins Entertainment for any type of event, each contracted client receives services contoured to their specific needs and goals from an insured and experienced entertainment LLC. Energized DJ & Emcee services are the main product of The Spins Entertainment, but the experience of Owner and Operator, DJ SPINS, goes above and beyond the playing of music, following timelines and making necessary announcements.

Utilizing the Performing Arts classes of the Flint Cultural Center and surrounding programs of Michigan’s Genesee County, DJ SPINS has been “part of the show” from a very young age. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Michigan State University, he gained additional performance experience through a capella and stage performances on cruise ships, as well as, television and film acting opportunities while living in New York City.

In order to make ends meet in New York while pursuing acting, catering work was the logical choice for regular employment. Event experience in the back and front of house eventually garnered promotions to management positions in the office and at events; Working a successful event is one thing, but the months or even years of preparation that go into planning an event is another thing. The past experience of performing and working large-scale events has subconsciously imbedded itself into the fundamentals of any event planned and facilitated by The Spins Entertainment.

After returning to Flint, Michigan, DJ SPINS purchased a record player, spent entire weekends at record stores thumbing through dollar crates and gained an understanding of classic DJ fundamentals during the free time of Covid quarantine. In the last five years, DJ SPINS has gone from playing a 50-guest local birthday party to playing a 300-guest wedding at the Chicago History Museum and has played for every type of event in-between, including hyping up 4,000 walkers at 8am for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Detroit Zoo.

Although the business was built on vinyl, playing music digitally has been necessary, too. Much like the time spent learning the fundamentals with vinyl, the appropriate amount of research and practice was taken to understand the techniques of mixing digitally; DJ SPINS takes pride in making every event a multi-generational music experience.

Outside of successfully anticipating equipment needs, studying timelines, rehearsing music playlists and exercising event objectives, The Spins Entertainment LLC arrives to every event with humorous heart, adding a mix of classic and modern engagement styles into the role of DJ and Emcee. Creating a fun and welcoming environment for each attendee through playful and constructive banter, while respecting the visions pinpointed by the contracted client ahead of time, is always The Spins Entertainment’s highest priority.
